It’s a beautiful Monday! At least it is here in Utah. We’ve had a mild couple of weeks as far as weather goes, and I’m LOVING it! And now, to add to the beauty that is outside, I’ve got some pretty vintage graphics you can use to beautify your next design.
If you’re a frequent visitor of Designs By Miss Mandee, then you know how much I love to doodle—that’s where these come from. I started sketching Edison light bulbs and old-fashioned telephones, and just decided to run with the vintage theme. What do you think?
I probably started doodling these things because home decor has been on my mind a lot lately. Up until a few months ago, Isaac and I had always lived in apartments: but now we have a house of our own, and a million possibilities. I have so many ideas about what I want to do: things to add, things to do away with, things to paint, and I’m starting to realize something—graphic design doesn’t translate to interior design as well as I had hoped.
When it comes to picking color schemes, furniture, artwork, or pretty much anything for the house I have no idea what to do. I think my problem is that I like so many styles, and my preferences change so quickly that I don’t trust myself. Can I have a cozy cottage kitchen and a modern-style living room? How much white is too much white? Am I going to regret refinishing my craft table in two-tone color? So many questions! Plus, due to the fact that our yard didn’t come with a money tree, all of the projects I have in mind will be taking course over a pretty long period of time—what if everything I love now ends up changing before I finally get around to updating the kitchen?
But, this is our first house (our experiment house as my boss calls it), so why not try new things and find out what I really like, right? And, in the mean time, I’ll keep sharing my little doodles with all of you. Enjoy!
