I’ve got some great news peeps—I’m an auntie! I technically married into aunthood when my husband and I tied the knot four years ago; but just last weekend, I got to feel like a brand new auntie again when my sister had her darling baby girl. I’m so excited for my sister and my brother-in-law to kick off this new adventure in their lives! Today, I’m sharing a self care kit and DIY mama bear cup I put together for my sister to let her know I love her.

I remember, when I had Davian, there being a very sudden shift in priorities and attention; and it starts in the hospital. One second, you are the center of it all: your husband it feeding you ice chips, your mom is holding your hand, and the nurses are coming in and out of the room every few minutes just to see how you’re doing—then BAM—you have a baby. Suddenly, there is a living, breathing, tiny human being there, and things start to move really quickly.

While everyone is excited to come see the sweet new baby, it can be easy for mom to get overlooked. Between two baby showers, and other random gifting on my part, my niece has been plenty spoiled already. So that’s why I wanted to make something special just for my sister.

What You Need

How To Make

1. Use your cutting machine to cut out your mama bear design (I’ve included two: one where the bears are rubbing their heads together, and one where the baby bear is riding on it’s mama’s back).

(Hint: if you don’t have a cutting machine, you can print out the template, trace the design onto vinyl, and cut it out by hand.)

2. Weed your design, and place onto transfer tape.

3. Burnish the vinyl onto your tumbler, and peel away the transfer tape.

Be sure to hand wash these cups to make the design lasts.

I ended up making two cups: one for my sister, and one for my eight-and-a-half month pregnant sister-in-law. What I love about this gift idea, is that you can customize it however you want, based on the recipient. Fill it with new mama’s favorite candy bar, nail polish, hair accessories, you name it!

Since every mom knows that one of the things you need most when taking care of a newborn is something refreshing, I made sure to include some Centrum® Multigummies®* and Emergen-C® in both kits. Because, if you’re going to take vitamins or drink something to make you feel good, shouldn’t it taste good too? I personally love these gummy multivitamins, and I think it’s awesome that Emergen-C® comes in so many flavors (pink lemonade all the way baby).

Between Centrum® Multigummies® and Emergen-C®, there’s loads of Vitamin D3, B vitamins, antioxidants, electrolytes, and Vitamin C to help with energy and support the immune system (super important when you’re taking care a of brand new baby).**

You can find Centrum® MultiGummies® for Men and Women, Emergen-C® Vitamin Supplement Drink Mix (on sale now), and other self-care products at Walgreens. Be sure to keep an eye out for temporary price reductions each week.

Enjoy creating this DIY mama bear cup for the awesome new mom in your life! What kinds of things will you include in your new mommy self care kit?

Hi Kasie! Yes, it is. You can’t sell the design itself, but you can sell finished products with this artwork on it. All you need to do is purchase a commercial license ($10). Feel free to email me (mandee@designsbymissmandee.com) if you’re interested.
