Are you ready to get crafty? I thought so. Learn how to make glitter play dough that not only looks good, but smells good too! Plus, find out about my secret weapon for messy DIYs and download some cute tags.
My mom use to make this play dough for me all the time when I was a kid! I always loved helping here knead the dough while it was warm and smelling the Kool-Aid! For this play dough, I added a little touch of sparkle to my mom’s recipe.
Ingredients
3 C. Flour
1 C. Salt
5 Tbl. Alum (Cream of tartar works too)
1 tsp. Baking Powder
1 Packet of Kool-Aid (any color)
Glitter (I used about 1.5 ounces)
2 3/4 C. Water
1/3 C. Vegetable Oil
Combine all dry ingredients (flour, salt, alum, baking powder, Kool-Aid, and glitter) in a medium sized pot. Boil water and add it to the dry mixture along with the vegetable oil. Stir rapidly over medium heat until dough forms a ball. Turn onto counter top, let cool, and knead dough. Store in a plastic container or saran wrap in the refrigerator.
Getting crafty can be a blast! But you know what isn’t as much fun—the mess. I loathe the cleanup process!
