Printable Ink Quote – Do Something Awesome

Hello everyone! You know, I was feeling really burnt out last week. Things at work were busy as ever, I was doing three blog posts, and, on top of all that, the search for our first home was really starting to get me down. Every time we found houses we liked, they would be sold before we would even get a chance to go see them. So, when I was digging for inspiration for this week’s posts, I was having a hard time. But, you know who inspired me? YOU! That’s right, you, my readers. In the last week, I’ve received some of the nicest emails and comments, and it has really helped me fight through the stress that’s been building up. So today, this printable ink quote goes out to all of you.

Download this awesome design and hang it in your home, office, or creative space.

This kind of hand drawn/hand painted word art is quite trendy right now, and I think it’s positively lovely! I’ve been wanting to try my hand at it for a while now, and finally made the time to do it. It took quite a few renditions, but I really love the way it turned out.

And, today I’m going to be doing something just a little bit different. In case you are at all curious about my design process, I’m going to share it with you (if you couldn’t care less, then I suppose you could just skip this part). Here the steps I went through to create this design:

Printable Ink Quote

Round 1 – Too Wonky

Round 2 – Almost There

Round 3 – Just Right

What do you think? Revealing your process as a designer kind of feels like showing your work naked. But I think it’s healthy to do every once in a while (just the design process part…I’m not trying to encourage public nudeness…maybe that wasn’t the best metaphor).

Be sure to let me know what you think of this design? What other quotes should I make? And did you find my design process interesting, or feel it was a waste of the scrolling effort of your index finger?

Be awesome today!

Great job, Mandee! And this quote is very uplifting. I too have been burnt out by my projects and daily life in general. No time to sit down and everything is not according to my schedule. I admire you for managing 3 posts a week. I can only do once a week! Anyway, thanks for sharing 🙂

I love this! But any chance you could share it as a PDF? It wants me to give a program called “zip exractor” permission on my computer and I’m leery of authorizing outside apps.

Thanks Jennie! The file itself is a pdf, but I have to zip my files so that they can include the terms of use. If you are using a Mac you shouldn’t have to use any outside apps to unzip it. You might if you use a Windows computer.
