You and I have something in common: we’re both busy! Whether it’s balancing work, school, kids, staying healthy, making time for your spouse, or possibly a combination of every one of those things: you’ve got a lot on your plate. I feel ya! For me, it’s a constant struggle of time management: between my full time job, spending time with my hubby, playing games with my cute little boy, freelance work, and keeping up with my blog, it can all get pretty hectic and often overwhelming. I bet you’ve had similar feelings of stress. And in all this, even when we are doing a good job juggling all these things, we forget someone else we should make time for—OURSELVES! So, today I’m going to talk a little bit about how I like to do “me time” and share some super cute vintage ice cream clip art. And, there is a special bonus in store for you as well: keep reading to find out what it is.
9:00 PM—that’s when the magic happens. We’ve had dinner, the little one is in bed, I’ve changed out of my work clothes and into my yoga pants, and it’s time to get some work done. This is usually when I get working on blog posts and freelance work. It’s a great time to focus and get in the zone! But, I’ve learned the hard way that if I do this every night from 9:00 PM to 1:00 AM (or later) I start burning the candle at both ends…and it all crumbles. So, now I’ve realized that if I’m going to be able to really focus and enjoy life, I need to take time for myself too.
My favorite ways to spend my “me time” are reading books, playing tennis, baking deserts (without cleaning up the mess), drawing, and eating ice cream. What better way to unwind than to settle in with your sketchbook and a nice pint of Häagen Dazs? Maybe drawing isn’t your thing, but the great thing about ice cream, is that it pairs nicely with lots of other relaxing activities as well: reading a good book, snuggling in a blanket while watching the rain outside, or just catching up with your favorite TV show.
