I’ve been on a geometric, modern kick at work lately. Usually I keep my work design inspiration and blog inspiration separate (mostly because the stuff I’m designing at work isn’t allowed to be as “cool” as the stuff I come up with for you guys), but, this time, the inspiration is spilling over. Today, I present, for your design pleasure, these cool geometric overlays.
The number of ways you can use these is pretty much infinite. They are great with flat designs, water color motifs, techie design, and any number of photos. Here’s one example:
Pretty rad, right?
Sorry that I’ve have been kind of a slacker when it come to the freebies the last little while. I’ve been focusing a lot on my shop lately, along with making feeble attempts at unpacking and organizing all of our prized possessions. I’m not exactly sure how much stuff is socially acceptable to not have unpacked yet (considering that we moved in almost a month ago), but I’m pretty sure we are pushing the limits on it.
Having a house, though, is totally awesome, and a million times better than renting an apartment! I just keep putting things away and being amazed that we have so much…what is it called? SPACE! I don’t have to create space for things out of thin air anymore; it’s a nice change. But, with a house comes a lot more responsibilities: mowing the lawn, taking the garbage/recycling cans to the curb each Thursday night, and just general upkeep for a larger area. My husband and I use to joke that the great thing about an apartment was that you never had to be held accountable for all the little quirks and flaws the place had: pipes that are constantly leaking, butt-ugly laminate floors, cabinets that look like they came straight out of a 1970’s church kitchen. Now we can (and, in most cases, have to) actually do something about those things—the pressure’s on!
Well, I’d better get back to the relentless drudgery that is most commonly referred to as “unpacking.” Wish me luck. And enjoy your new, super awesome geometric overlays!

Thanks for sharing with Creative Spark; this was the most-clicked post last week! Hope you’ll link up with us again this week! And I hope you’re getting settled in your new place!
