Confetti Patterns for New Year’s

Hello everyone! And welcome back from the weekend. Can you believe that this is the second to last Monday of the year? With all the preparations for Christmas going on it’s easy to forget that, while we’re wrapping up gifts, we’re also wrapping up the year. So, today I’m sharing some fun confetti patterns to inspire you for New Year’s!

Confetti Patterns

I was doing some visual research and trying to think of an idea for some New Year’s graphics, and one thing that kept catching my eye was confetti. For some reason, we’ve decided to associate the celebration of a new year with little flecks of paper (not that I’m complaining—I’m definitely a confetti fan). So, I thought this would make for a cool new seamless pattern series. I’m definitely liking the way they turned out!

I remember my first encounter with confetti. I was with my family at Disneyland: I was about five and my brother was three. We were watching the live action performance of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and, at the end, they shot out thousands of little pieces of purple, green, and orange tissue paper (aka confetti). Being the self appointed junk collectors in the family, my brother and I saw this as a great opportunity for some free souvenirs. We went around, excitedly picking up the confetti and filling up the stroller basket, completely baffled at the fact that everyone else just left it there and walked away. My loving and patient parents not only let us do this, but, if I remember right, the confetti even made it back home (where it eventually met it’s predestine doom in the trash can).

Weather or not your New Year’s festivities will include actual confetti, there are plenty of ways to incorporate these lovely patterns: buntings, cards, wrapping paper, stationary, you name it!

I hope you enjoy your new, pretty patterns! Have a Merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!
