Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Isaac, happy birthday to you! On Monday, my hubby (aka Isaac, Sweetheart, Honey Bear, etc.) celebrated his 27 birthday! Honestly, it was a pretty chill day: I made him breakfast in bed, surprised him at work with balloons and donuts (because my awesome boss let me leave work early), then we went out to dinner, and finished the night off with a movie. All in all, it was a really fun time, and I think he enjoyed it. The hard thing with Isaac’s birthday, though, is that it falls so close to Christmas, and I never quite know what to get him—that’s where this cute little birthday envelope comes in!
For Christmas, like most people, the majority of the things I got Isaac were, well, THINGS. And I kind of used up all my good gift ideas (you’d think I’d learn). So, for his birthday I decided to give him experiences instead of things.
I hopped on Groupon, and found some awesome local deals in no time! But, then another problem arose. Half the fun of getting a gift is opening it—what was I suppose to do? Hand him a couple pieces of printed copy paper and say “Happy Birthday?” So, I decided to make a fun little birthday envelope to hold them and liven up the presentation a little bit.
Aren’t they cute? I designed the little window to fit a 4″x6″ photo, but you can insert another color of paper and write a birthday message instead, if that suites your fancy. The download includes both an svg cut file if you have a Cricut or Silhouette and a printable template if you don’t have a cutting machine.
(hint: There is an 8.5″x11″ pdf template and a 12″x12″ pdf template: to be able to fit a 4″x6″ photo, you will need to print on a 12″x12″ sheet of paper.)
Enjoy this birthday envelope! What do you plan to use it for: a gift certificate like me, a letter, money, or something else entirely?
