DIY Disney Villain Patches

Disney fans, it’s time to put down your Tinker Bell mug, set aside your tsum tsums, and check this out: I’ve got a brand new Disney-themed DIY, and, this time, it’s one of a villainous variety (insert maniacal laugh). Last month, I shared some Mickey Mouse style patches and a template for you to create your very own—now you can add to your collection with these fiendishly fetching, DIY Disney villain patches.

Can’t tell who’s who? Here’s a cheat sheet:

  1. Maleficent
  2. Cruella De Vil
  3. The Queen of Hearts
  4. Hades
  5. Ursula
  6. Dr. Facilier

If you’re wondering, “How the heck am I suppose to use this template?” I created a tutorial in my other post; so check that out and download those templates if you haven’t already.

It’s no secret that I’m a Disney fanatic and aspiring Disney Princess, but I do love myself a good villain! No story is complete without opposition, and Disney villains are always ready and willing to provide just that.

One quality I really like in a villain is wittiness—someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously. That’s why Hades is one of my favorite bad guys! Watching Hercules as an adult (and yes, I have watched it as an adult), I really appreciate his humor and repartee even more. I feel like Disney villains use to be quite serious and grim (the Evil Queen, Maleficent, Cinderella’s Stepmother), but I feel like they’ve moved away from that in recent years (Captain Hook, The Queen of Hearts, Gaston, even Jafar has Iago to balance him out).

If you’re digging these patches, you’ll definitely want to check out my Disney villain silhouettes I created a while back along with lots of other Disney freebies I’ve created.

Enjoy the designs, and have fun making these wickedly delightful little patches!

I cannot get this to print. I thought I was out of black ink but I can print a word document. I have the latest version of Adobe, too. Any advice?? Anyone else have trouble printing?

Hi Tammi! I don’t have any designs featuring the characters from the Descendants series, unfortunately.
