If you’re a crafty designer, you probably love to personalize just about everything. In today’s video tutorial, I’ll show you how to make shape monograms like the ones you see all over Etsy, as well as how to fit text into any shape you’d like. Use these tools to create fun vinyl monograms or expressive textual configurations.
The main tools you will be using:
Envelope Distort
Object>Envelope Distort>Make with Top Object
Shortcut:⌥⌘C
Compound Path
Object>Compound Path>Make
Shortcut:⌘8
Intersect
Window>Pathfinder>Intersect
The fonts I used in this tutorial are Impact, Sensi Bold, and Lawson.
So, there you have it! Have fun putting together some totally awesome monograms and funky-shaped words.
Happy Designing!
