Woot woot! Who’s ready to get their party on? Halloween is just around the corner, and if you’re thinking of hosting spooktacular get together, you’re going to love today’s post! These jack-o-lantern party favors are simple to make, fun for all ages, and even come with an added surprise.
Four years ago, when my husband and I were newlyweds, we decided to throw a Halloween party and invite all 8 of my younger siblings. Being the oldest in the family, and the first one to get married, my brothers and sisters all thought it was incredibly awesome! Now, it’s become a tradition for my hubby and I to host my family for Halloween each year (and we’ve even added one more little brother to the mix since then).
I’m always trying to come up with ways to make our little party fun for everyone (tough to do when we have an age range of 2-24), while still keeping it simple. These favors are definitely on the simple side, but I love the way they turned out!
What You Need
- Mini Monster Cans in Sunkist®, A&W® Root Beer, Canada Dry®, Squirt®, 7UP®, or Big Red®
- Orange Crepe Paper or Tissue Paper
- Green Straws
- Twine
- My Printable Template
- Card Stock
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
How To Make
1. Cut some of the orange crepe/tissue paper down to size, wrap it around the soda can, and tie it off with twine. After that, cut the top down if need be, and tie the twine around the straw to attach it.
2. Either use your cutting machine to cut out my jack-o-lantern templates, or print off the designs and cut out the shapes. Use hot glue to adhere the jack-o-lantern faces to the front of the can.
See, what did I tell ya’? Simple, but cute. You can’t go wrong with these adorable miniature sodas in the first place, but getting to unwrap it like a present just adds to the fun!
These Halloween Monster 6-packs are available at Walmart. Plus, right now, you can get $1.00 back for every two packs you purchase when you use the ibotta app.
So, I believe I promised an “added surprise.” Well, here it is: the cool thing about these sodas is that, not only do they make a great party favor, but you can even interact with the monsters through the new augmented reality app! Pretty sweet! Using the app, you can take selfies and video with the monsters, turning this already awesome party favor into a full-on interactive experience.
Have fun making these jack-o-lantern party favors! Between the Halloween theme, yummy soda, and interactive app, your guest are sure to have a wicked good time.
