You know there’s Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen: Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen… And, of course, we can’t forget about Rudolf! Today I’ve got another fun pom pom craft to share with you. These reindeer pom poms are cute way to get crafty and add a festive touch to your home this holiday season!
I just can’t stay away from pom pom crafts—especially now that I have my awesome, handy dandy pom pom makers! I made some frighteningly fun Halloween pom poms in October, and some adorable turkey pom poms in November. You can’t go wrong with pom pom crafts! They are super affordable to make, and are a fun DIY for both kids and adults. All it takes is some yarn, felt, and hot glue to make these delightfully festive decorations.
(Hint: if you are using the same pom pom makers, I used the green one to make the bigger reindeer, and the yellow one for the smaller reindeer. Also, I would recommend stiffer felt for this project. The darker brown felt I used was stiffer than the lighter brown felt, and I feel like the stiffer felt works better—particularly for the antlers.)
The download includes a printable template for the antlers and noses for both small and larger pom poms (relative to the ones I’ve made in the past). It also includes bunting banners you can use to display the names of your reindeer.
Like I mentioned, I’ve loved making pom pom crafts lately! I’m notorious for underestimating how much time it will take, though. I ended up employing my husband to help my with the finishing touches on this one (a.k.a. tracing and cutting out all the antlers/noses). So, shoutout to Isaac—you rock honey!
It wasn’t until after we were done that I decided I wanted to make a bunting to go underneath with all their names. It’s a small thing, but I think it adds a special element to it.
