Second star to the right, and straight on ’till morning. It’s here—the next installment in my Disney Paper Lanterns series has finally been brought to life! And this one is extra special, because YOU picked it. A couple weeks ago, I sent out a survey to see what Disney film I should base my next paper lantern design on, and this one was the winner! So, I hope this Peter Pan paper lantern brings you happy thoughts and has just enough pixie dust to get you to Neverland!
What do you think? Overall, I feel like this is one of my more unique lanterns in the series. Each panel tells a different part of the story, and there isn’t a lot of repetition to be found in the design. I really wanted to have at least a couple of the kids flying in front of the clock-face, but it ended up being too delicate for my Cricut to handle (*sigh*). Getting to see all the detail of the clock makes me happy though. The linear pattern of the clock-face provides a nice contrast to the more organic shapes throughout the rest of the design, I feel.
To learn how to assemble my paper lanterns, see this tutorial.
I use a Cricut Explore to do my die cut designs, and I absolutely love it! For tips on creating this delicate paper cut, see the FAQ section on my website.
If you haven’t seen the other lanterns I’ve created as part of my Disney Paper Lanterns Series, you definitely need to check them out:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey! It was great to find out which designs you are most interested in seeing me create, and you gave me some really fun ideas for lantern designs I hadn’t considered yet. There was another Disney movie that followed Peter Pan as a close second in the voting, so be sure to stay tuned, because I’ll be doing that one next! Until then, it’s OFF TO NEVERLAND!

April 13, 2017 at 6:12 pm (6 years ago)I can’t get over how clean a cut this is!! I just got done making the Beauty and the Beast one for a birthday present for my mom, showed it to my sister and she immediately screamed “I want a Peter Pan one!!” I was so excited to see you had one! But let me talk about the cut again, I mean PERFECT! I’ve done other cuts from the Cricut website that don’t have the cut lines these downloads do! So thank you for helping me make two of my very favorite women smile!!

November 2, 2017 at 7:03 pm (6 years ago)Miss Mandee, I want to thank you for for being so generous. I just downloaded one of your paper lanterns and am very excited to use it as my first Cricut project. I found you via YouTube looking for a Cricut tutorial. I’m going to watch all of the tutorials you made. You’re a wonderful teacher. I hope to make my own designs in Illustrator in the not too distant future. Thank you for being an inspiration, and providing the path for my creative exploration.
Kind regards,
arica

December 18, 2017 at 9:44 am (5 years ago)Hello, I love your Peter Pan Lantern. I purchased a Cricut Maker, and Im having trouble cutting it. It only gets to 20% done and then it says there is something wrong with the plug in. I’ve done it 3 times all 3 times it says the same error. I called cricut and they said there might be something wrong with the download file. Just wanted to know if there is something I can do to fix?
Thank you for everything
Mandee
December 18, 2017 at 11:16 am (5 years ago)Hi Zemira,
I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble! And I’m sorry to say that I’m not really sure what the problem could be. I don’t have a Cricut Maker, so I don’t know what the quirks are with it. My files have always worked with my Cricut Explore Air.
The only thing I can think of is that you might either be having an interruption in your internet connection or possibly something weird going on with your browser. I would try using a different browser (like Google Chrome or Safari). Besides that, I don’t really have any other suggestions.
Hopefully that helps and you’re able to get it to work!
