Warning: today’s freebie is too delicious to be viewed on an empty stomach! After my husband’s relaxation and sushi-themed birthday last week, I decided to continue the trend with some fun sushi clip art. Use the elements in my new sushi collection to add some Japanese flair or foodie touch to your next design.
Wouldn’t these designs look so cute as part of a menu design or food blog? For the first time, I’ve also included a color version of the graphics in the download. When I was laying this image out, I just really felt like it could use some color, and decided to include the colorful versions you see here in the download along with the sketched, outline versions. Let me know what you think.
Sushi is probably my husband’s all-time favorite cuisine! It’s likely that he would suggest going out for it twice a month if it weren’t so darn expensive.
As someone who could never stand to eat fish, I use to be quite hesitant with sushi. But becoming vegetarian (coming up on 4 years ago), has made it a thousand times better for me in that regard. Now I don’t feel pressure to try some crazy, fishy sushi—I can just tell them to keep the mango rolls coming!
There is a local sushi place that my husband and I love, with a great selection of vegetarian rolls; but, the other day, we thought we’d try something new. We looked up another nearby sushi place and called to ask if they had any vegetarian options. Their response was, “All sushi is vegetarian.”
We were about as confused as the lady on the phone was at that point.
I forget that some vegetarians eat fish. Whenever anyone finds out I’m vegetarian, they often follow up with, “Do you eat fish?” Which is always kind of funny to me just because I’ve always hated fish so much; being vegetarian has become a great excuse to never have to try it again.
Person: “Mandee, you should try this shrimp.”
Me: “Oh, no thank you.”
Person: “Seriously, it’s not like the other shrimp you’ve tried: this shrimp is amazing.”
Me: “Actually, I’m vegetarian. Thank you though, I’m sure it’s great.”
And I’m saved from having another disgusting piece of shrimp shoved down my throat!
But, no matter what your preference is in the fish department, I think we can all agree that this sushi collection is absolutely detectible!
