Snow White Paper Lantern

I am back from my vacation, and, let me tell ya’, I’ve hit the ground running! I’ve got so many projects on the docket (not to mention a significant increase in work/responsibility due to changes in my personal life; but more on that in a future blog post). Today I’m so excited to [finally] unveil my latest Disney Paper Lantern design! This puppy has been in the works for quite some time, and I am just brimming with excitement to share it with you today! Explore gem-filled mines, dance with the seven dwarfs, and look out for those pesky poison apples—my Snow White paper lantern design is here!

When it comes to classic Disney films, Snow White is the ULTIMATE classic! Can you believe this movie came out almost 80 years ago? How many other movies (especially animated movies) do people still watch and grow up watching?

I bounced a lot of ideas around with my husband when deciding which scenes to include in this design. We both thought that the dancing scene is incredibly iconic, and a great way to include all seven dwarfs—can you spot them all?

I also wanted to include the mining caves/gems and, of course, the proverbial fruit itself. I love how both of those panels turned out! And, if you’ll notice, I had a lot of fun incorporating some of Snow’s forest friends in the apple scene.

To learn how to assemble my paper lanterns, see this tutorial.

I use a Cricut Explore to do my die cut designs, and I absolutely love it! For tips on creating this delicate paper cut, see the FAQ section on my website.

Like most all my paper lanterns, removing the final design from your cutting mat is as much of an art as the cut itself, so be sure to go slowly.

Enjoy this lovely, Snow White paper lantern design! I always love to see how you creative people implement my lanterns, so feel free to drop me a message or tag me on social media when you put one of these beautiful lanterns together.

I love your lantern designs. I love Disney as much as you do. I have made several of the lanterns for my daughter who is 14 and her girlfriends who loved us need to. They thought they were so awesome and couldn’t wait to have them . Thank you

    Hi Mandee!
Love your unique designs. Was thinking about using lanterns for a friend’s couple shower. The theme is ‘stock the bar’ do you think you might be able to design something for the occasion?

Please let me know asap as her wedding is end of November.

Thank you for decorating the world with your talents.

Mandee these are so beautiful! Do you think the pattern could be blown up before cutting?

Thanks Jessica! The design is currently set to fit an 8.5″x11″ sheet of paper, but you can definitely make it larger before sending it to cut. 🙂

I have made several of them. Will take a picture of them. Your designs are so detailed and are just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing your designs with us. Have you ever thought of doing more of the paper lanterns in different things? Would love to see some Game of Thrones 😉 and other things.

Thanks Jennifer! Yes, I’d love to see pictures—send them my way (mandee@designsbymissmandee.com)!!

I have thought of a few other themes to do paper lantern designs for; but, for now, I’m sticking with Disney just because I still have a fairly long list of designs I want to add to my collection. 🙂

I love these and decided to use them in my wedding centerpieces! Unfortunately I need more movies than you have designs for, I’d absolutely love to design them myself, but I’m not sure where to start. If you could let me know the process I would be so grateful. Some movies we are including that you don’t have already are UP, Tarzan, Bambi, and Pocohantas

How awesome! I’m so glad my designs will have a place at your wedding. 😀

The design process is quite time consuming to make these, and isn’t something I could really explain succinctly, but you could check out my cut file design basics videos if you’d like!

I haven’t added Tarzan, Bambi, or Pocahontas to my collection yet, unfortunately, but I do actually have an Up paper lantern available. 🙂
