Happy birthday Maleena! Today is my little sister’s birthday, and, to celebrate, I’ve decided to create a new paper lantern design featuring her favorite Disney character: Pooh! Take a stroll through The Hundred Acre Wood, and re-live your childhood through this iconic scene from The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh; featured in my brand new, Winnie the Pooh paper lantern.
Be sure to check out my other Disney paper lantern designs in this series!
Since my sister is both a fan of Disney and of my Disney paper lantern series, I figured this was a great opportunity to create something special for her birthday. Winnie the Pooh has been her favorite since she was little, and even now, at 22, she’s still a big fan!
When contemplating what to include in this design, I immediately thought of the scene where Pooh gets stuck in Rabbit’s house (“Oh bother”), and everyone has to work together to pull/push him out. I thought about having this scene only span two or three panels, but decided that the picture wouldn’t be complete without including Pooh’s backside.
And I knew that dear old Pooh Bear wouldn’t be pleased if this design didn’t include plenty of honey!
To learn how to assemble my paper lanterns, see this tutorial.
I use a Cricut Explore to do my die cut designs, and I absolutely love it! For tips on creating this delicate paper cut, see the FAQ section on my website.
Like most all my paper lanterns, removing the final design from your cutting mat is as much of an art as the cut itself, so be sure to go slowly.
Enjoy my latest Disney creation! Use this Winnie the Pooh paper lantern to dress up a party, or simply brighten someone’s day. TTFN (ta ta for now)!
