Who’s ready for a rousing game of Quidditch? Today’s post is a special one for my fellow Harry Potter fanatics! Whether you’re planning a Harry Potter-themed party, are looking for a fun wizarding craft, or are just a Harry Potter nerd who happens to own a cutting machine, I’ve got just the thing for you. Watch out for bludgers and let your creativity take flight with this awesome die cut golden snitch!
A while back, I created some Harry Potter clip art in preparation of our trip to Universal Studios and Harry Potter World. Since then, I’ve used that clip art quite a few times while making Harry Potter-themed designs and I recently thought, “Why don’t I do some Harry Potter die cuts too?” Well, here we are!
When contemplating where to start, I decided to go with the golden snitch as my first Harry Potter die cut creation. I thought it would be fun to make multiple versions or the design with a bunch of varying, intricate details. I definitely had a great time with it! Starting with the more “classic” one, then venturing to a more “feathery” design, and then a swirly one (because I never miss an opportunity to add a touch of swirlyness: the love bugs I made for Valentine’s Day can attest to that)!
I use a Cricut Explore to do my die cut designs, and I absolutely love it! For tips on creating delicate paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website.
I can think of so many ways to implement this die cut golden snitch design! You could iron it onto a pillow or t-shirt, add it to a homemade card, or hang them up around the room at your next Harry Potter watch-party. So many options!
Enjoy these cute snitch designs! What fun ways can you think of implementing this cut file?

March 5, 2020 at 4:22 am (4 years ago)Hi good day, I’m a cake baker/decorator and someone requested a Harry Potter Topper on their cake. I’ve been looking for a golden snitch, one that I can cut out with my cricut and so far your file is most appropriate. Is it possible to share your file whether is just a silhouette or what via email please dear. My business is Sweet P’s Tasty Treatz all the way out here in the Caribbean. I’m also new to cricut so I wasn’t looking for anything too complicated. If you will I’ll be so so grateful 🙏🏾🤗

October 12, 2020 at 11:00 am (3 years ago)Hi Debby! I’m sorry you are having trouble. I’ve just tested the download myself, and I don’t seem to be getting any file corruption errors. Do you receive the error from your computer when you try to unzip it, when you open one of the files themselves, or upon downloading?
