Break out your 70’s dance moves, because the robots are here! Today’s freebie is brought to you by special request from my four-year-old who is currently obsessed with, you guessed it—robots. So check out my latest designs, and I think you’ll find the droids you’ve been looking for in these whimsical, die cut robots.
When I say that my son is obsessed with robots right now, I mean he is OBSESSED with robots. Everything we do revolves around robots: when we draw pictures, it’s of robots, when we play with blocks, we’re building robots, when he asks me for tape, you better believe it’s going to be used to piece together a “robot” using the toys he has on hand.
So, as excited as he was to see Buzz, Woody and the gang in the Toy Story paper lanterns I made recently, he was pretty upset that I didn’t bother to make any robots to go with them (what was I thinking?). But don’t worry bud, I’m remedying that today!
Davian (my aforementioned 4-year-old) loves being part of the paper-cutting process lately. He’s really taken to cutting paper (by far his favorite craft), and he loves to push the buttons on my Cricut and watch the machine do it’s thing! Needless to say, he had a blast with this one.
I know these might not be super typical looking robots, but I decided to base my designs around some of the whimsical robot drawings Davian and I have done together recently. He was a little upset about the ones that don’t have “feet,” though. Any time I draw a robot that doesn’t have distinct enough legs/feet, he makes sure to draw them for me.
Enjoy these fun little die cut robots! Do you have a robot-lover in your house as well?
