Teacher appreciation week is coming right up (starting May 6th)! And if you’re looking for a super cute way to show some love to an educator, then I’ve got just the thing. Pair these smart cookie gift tags with a confectionary-themed treat for a present that any teacher is sure to enjoy.
My oldest son, Davian, has been attending preschool for the past year, and is loving it! So much so that, when we told him about Kindergarten, he really dreaded the idea; saying, “But I like my school—I don’t want to go to a different school!” We attended Kindergarten Roundup a couple weeks ago, though, and that seemed to ease his fears. The idea of a library, computer lab, and bigger playground were pretty good motivators.
But, one of the biggest reasons Davian is sure to miss preschool is his teachers! He loves his teachers, and looks forward to seeing them every day. He’s not a big hugger, but he always makes sure to give Miss Terri a hug before he leaves.
So, to show my appreciation for the people getting my son excited about learning, I decided to put together some extra special gift tags; thanking them for making Davian “one smart cookie.”
I’ve done homemade mixes in a jar before, and it’s a super simple and fun way to give a gift. Paired with a cute spatula, and you just can’t go wrong!
If you’re interested in cookie mix recipe, here it is:
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups (9 ounces) chocolate chips
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Place flour mixture in 1-quart jar. Layer remaining ingredients in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer. Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.

I’ve included the instruction tag in the download as well. Make sure to give that to your recipient along with the gift, or else they’ll just have a jar of flour and chocolate chips they have no idea what to do with!
I use a Cricut Maker to do my die cut designs, and I absolutely love it! For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other awesome cut file freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy these fun, smart cookie gift tags! If you’re not into the cookie mix thing, these go well with a simple plate of cookies or gourmet cookie gift cards too—whatever suits your fancy. Do you know a teacher would would love a gift like this?
