Well, I be done seen ’bout ev’rything, when I see a elephant fly. For everyone who’s been itching for a new paper lantern design, I’m excited to say that the wait is over! The newest installment in my Disney Paper Lanterns series is ready to take flight. Use my custom template to make your very own, perfectly unique, Dumbo paper lantern.
This was a really fun design to work on. I really wanted to encompass the “circus” aspect as well as incorporate a fair amount of movement. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to depict Dumbo in a moment of triumph and freedom, and I think this design captures that well: with him coming out of the circus tent and flying amongst the clouds.
Although Dumbo is the star, I really love the way the Casey Jr. train turned out. That puff of steam is a really fun element.

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website.
Like most all my paper lanterns, removing the final design from your cutting mat is as much of an art as the cut itself, so be sure to go slowly—especially around the little storks.

Sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the files. Make sure that you are using a program that supports SVG files (Adobe Creative Suite, Cricut Design Space, the Designer Edition of Silhouette Studio). And feel free to check out my FAQ page for more information.
