Howler Card – Teacher Appreciation Card

Not only are we still practicing social distancing; not only is it Mother’s Day this Sunday, but it is also Teacher Appreciation Week! And boy, has there ever been a time when people all around the globe have felt such a deep appreciation for educators more than now? That’s why, today, I am sharing a fun, teacher appreciation card design: perfect for all the Harry Potter fans out there. Snag this howler card, and let the whole room know just how much you love your child’s teacher!

Even though howlers are typically used to express…displeasure toward someone, I thought we could change things up a bit by making them as a way to send a “shout out” to all the teachers working hard to finish the school year strong.

I’ve included a printable card you can glue inside that reads:

Sending a Howler
Because we want everyone to know what a great teacher you are.

You can find those little insert cards in the PDF version of the design.

My thinking behind this is that since it’s a little more difficult to give teachers bulky gifts this year, why not send them a card (either in the mail, or drop it off at the school if you’re able). For my son’s Kindergarten teacher, I decided to add a fun little face mask in the envelope with the card, so that she can take a little “me time” in all this craziness.

Other gifts you could fit in an envelope are:

  • Gift Cards
  • Seed Packets
  • A Nice Bookmark
  • A Magnet
  • Tea or Cocoa Packets
  • Gift Certificates

The middle section of the card is large enough to fit a gift card, or simply write a little note. Even if you just have your child white something to their teacher, I’m sure it will mean a lot to them in this crazy time!

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other Harry Potter designs available on my blog!

Enjoy using this howler card to show your enthusiasm for a teacher, or even just as a fun and unique piece of snail mail for a friend/Harry Potter fan!
