Hello, everyone! For today’s design, please remain seated, keeping your hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the cabin. Be sure to watch your children—and no smoking, please. Now, let’s strap in and make this fun, die cut Disney Monorail!
I don’t know if you have locomotive fan in your life, but I sure do! My oldest son has always been fascinated by trains of all kinds. But the biggest locomotive enthusiast is definitely my little brother, Kaden.
Kaden is someone that started loving trains as a child, and never grew out of it. And, some of his all time favorite locomotives are the Disneyland and Disney World monorails! He knows pretty much everything there is to know about the monorail systems in the Disney parks, and riding them is always the highlight of his Disney vacation.
So, I definitely had Kaden in mind when I decided to create this design!
I thought that these monorail cars would make a great bunting, but you could also use them as part of a scrapbook page or centerpiece decoration for a Disney party. I decided to add little, grey accordion pieces in between each of the cars to add some dimension and make the monorail even more recognizable. The method I used to create these little accordion sections can be found in this blog post.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other 3D freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting this die cut Disney monorail together! Do you have fond memories of riding on the Disneyland or Disney World monorail?
