Die Cut Christmas Stars – Holiday Cut Files

Christmas day is nearly upon us! But, before all the festivities begin, I wanted to share one last holiday design. Use my latest templates to make some beautifully intricate, die cut Christmas stars!

Making these dimensional paper stars was a fun experiment, and they turned out even better than I had anticipated. I had only designed the lager ones at first, but decided part way through that having some small ones to go along with them would look quite nice.

Die Cut Christmas Stars

I, as I am sure most of you, am really looking forward to celebrating Christmas this week! My oldest son is the perfect age to enjoy all the magic of the season, and tells me every day that, “Christmas is taking forever to get here.”

Because of COVID, we didn’t go see Santa this year, but have been trying to find other fun ways to get out of the house and experience the holidays. One cool thing we did last weekend was visit a home in our neighborhood that puts on an awesome light show, synced with music. If you happen to be a fellow Utah resident, you can use this awesome map to find a similar house near you! Fun, festive, and free—you can’t beat that!!

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other holiday freebies available on my blog!

Enjoy making your very own, die cut Christmas stars! I hope you have as much fun making these decorations as I did. Be sure to share your results with me on Instagram!

Wow, your experiment was a smashing success! I have seen many of these stars although not as elaborate as yours. This will be a fun project that will provide many years of enjoyment. I plan add some LED lights inside and keep it on display all year. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful creation. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hi Mandee! I LOVE this design!

I’ve got it in DS but it doesn’t seem as easy as to make it and go.
It’s loaded on 13 mats, and some of them are just straight cut lines… can you give me a tutorial?!
    Thanks!

This is a beautiful project, I’m having trouble finding instructions for assembling the star?
    Thanks!

Hi there! I don’t have a tutorial for this project, unfortunately. Basically, you just need to fold each piece along the score lines, and then attach the tabs to another section. And repeat the process until you have a whole star.
