You are going to love today’s design—cross my heart! Fun for kids and adults alike, these lovely lacing hearts are just what you’ve been looking for this Valentine’s Day.
I loved doing lacing projects when I was little! It made me feel like I really knew how to sew. I remember working on a lacing project in first grade and telling one of my classmates, “When I’m a mom, I am going to sew all of my kid’s clothing by hand.”
Yeah…that didn’t happen.
Turns out that lacing projects like this are still about the extent of my sewing ability.
What’s fun about this project is that the opportunities for creativity are endless. With three different designs included, and an infinite amount of possibilities for lacing, you can truly make something unique! Maybe even add a little tassel like I did for an extra cute touch.
These lacing hearts would work great as a Valentine cards, as part of a V-day banner, or you could give them away as part of a Valentine craft kit. Just put them in an envelope with a bit of yarn, and you’ve got yourself a fun and easy DIY for a friend or family member.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other Valentine’s Day freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting together these cute little lacing hearts! I hope you have as much fun making them as I did. Be sure to share your results with me on Instagram!
