Who’s ready for a day at the races? Everyone knows that you can’t spend an afternoon at Churchill Downs without proper headwear. Today I am sharing some super cute, die cut derby hats that are just what you need for your next crafty project.
While I have visited the great state of Kentucky before, I’ve never been to the Kentucky Derby. It’s something I have always wanted to attend, though! Mostly, I just want an excuse to wear an over-the-top hat!
In fact, I actually started collecting fancy hats a few years ago. Unfortunately, I have precious few opportunities to wear them. I need to start attending a church where women still wear hats to the service. Until then, at least they work nice as references for designs like this, and make lovely props for these photos.
I think these derby hat designs would would look stunning as part of a card or tea party invitation. Very classy!
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other awesome freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy making these die cut derby hats! I hope you have as much fun putting them together as I did. Be sure to share your results with me on Instagram!
