For Mother’s Day, this year, I made a pretty little corsage. So, I thought it would only be fitting to make a boutonniere for dad!
- Hot Glue
- Floral Tape
- Floral Wire
- Small Beads
- Bone Folder (optional)
- A Cutting Machine or X-ACTO knife
- My Free Template
How to Make It
1. Use your cutting machine or X-ACTO knife, along with my template, to cut out all of the pieces of the Father’s Day boutonniere.
Note: If you are using the SVG files that includes the score lines, don’t forget to set them as such in Cricut Design Space and attach them to their shapes before sending them through your cutting machine. I used a lime green color to mark the score lines, so hopefully that helps! If you’re having trouble with the score lines, check out this video.
2. Start by attaching the yellow centers of the calla lilies to some floral wire (front and back).
Then, bend/curl the calla lily petals around the centerpieces, and glue them at the base.
Finish by wrapping floral tape around the floral wire stems.
3. Attach a bead to the end of a piece of floral wire. Layer the blue petals over the bead one at a time.
Wrap the wire stem in floral tape, and repeat the process with all three blue buds.
Lastly, arrange the flowers and leaves together like so.
When thinking of what flower to use for my boutonniere, I knew it just had to be calla lilies! Not only are they my own personal favorite flower, but I think they look absolutely stunning in boutonnieres. I was not disappointed.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other 3D freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy making your very own, Father’s Day boutonniere! I hope you have as much fun putting it together as I did. Be sure to share your stunning results with me on Instagram!
