Last spring, I shared a fun, customizable project designed to capture the uniqueness of your very own family. Now, I am excited to be expanding that project with a whole bunch of new goodies! Your picture-perfect family is just a craft away. Use the new templates in my family portrait set expansion pack to make sure everyone’s individual look and personality shines through.

I mean, c’mon—I still can’t get over just how cute these turn out! And, everyone knows that November is family picture month. But who says that we have to limit ourselves to digitally captured images only?
If you missed my first portrait set, be sure to go back and grab that one! That’s where you will find all the body and face templates, along with a few more hair and clothing options.
Included in this expansion set are:
- 9 new outfits
- 10 new hairstyles
- 3 facial hair options
- 8 types of headwear
- 4 different pets
- 6 other accessories of varying kinds
So, you can mix and match to fit your family’s personality! And, of course, you can use different paper colors/patterns to customize your look even more.
Note: I just used colored pencil to draw the faces. And if I messed up, I got a second chance by flipping the paper over (I may have had to do that once or twice). I recommend drawing the faces on before attaching the rest of your pieces together!
Also, I scaled down the child to slightly as well as trimmed the length of a couple of the peoples’ bodies to fit nicely in the frame.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other die cut freebies available on my blog!
If you’re looking to create a personalized Christmas gift this year, I think a handmade family portrait would make a really exceptional present!
Enjoy putting the new pieces in my family portrait set to good use. And don’t forget to share your adorable finished product with me on Instagram!

August 27, 2023 at 6:59 pm (1 year ago)Thank you so much for sharing this expansion pack but is there a way to get more diverse hairstyles (i.e. braids or dreadlocks) b/c I’d love to make this for my sister as a Christmas present but I can’t find a hairstyle that really matches her family…awesome job thank you for sharing!

August 30, 2023 at 11:40 am (1 year ago)I do have another expansion pack that I shared! You can check it out here:

For braids or dreadlocks, I would use a colored pencil to draw some of those details into the hair. 🙂

January 8, 2024 at 6:15 pm (8 months ago)I am having trouble getting this to work in Design Space. The first pack worked great. I downloaded this, extracted the file, then uploaded fine, but when I try to put it on the canvas, it won’t. Any suggestions?
