Christmas crafting season in here, and I can’t wait to share all the fun projects I have planned this year! I kicked things off last week with a new addition to my Christmas village collection, and today I have something super cute for your tree. So download the template for these nutcracker ornaments, and let’s get cracking!

How cute are these little guys!? I tried drawing the nutcracker mouth, but couldn’t figure out how to do it in a way that didn’t look creepy, so I ended up not including that part. So, I suppose these might look a little more like toy soldiers, but oh well. Nutcrackers were what I had in mind when I was designing them, so we’re going with it.
I’ve included two different outfit styles for these little guys, as well as two ornament-shaped backers. You can include these with your nutcrackers, or leave them as-is: either way, they look adorable!
These nutcrackers come out to be about 3.5″ tall without the ornament backer—4.5″ tall with it. Since they are so small, the uniform pieces are pretty tiny. So it helps to have some tweezers on hand for gluing, and a fine-point gluing device. If the small size proves to be too inconvenient, you can always enlarge the design in your cutting software, or remove some of the smaller elements, and draw them on instead.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting these nutcracker ornaments together. And don’t forget to share your festive finished products with me on Instagram!
