I think that crafting is one of the best ways to be creative and stay connected to your inner child. And, today, we are going to have some fun together by playing a little game of dress-up! So, find some cardstock in your favorite color, grab a few strands of your prettiest ribbon, and make some die cut dresses with me.

Aren’t these dresses just so sweet!? And this was the perfect project for me to put some more of my pretty ribbons to use, which is always a nice bonus!
The options for using these dresses are endless. They would be perfect as part of a handmade card or invitation. And they could easily be used as decorations for a tea party, or a fun little craft for an aspiring fashionista!
When I was a little girl, I had a fashion stencil kit. Basically, you could swap out three sections of stencils to create different outfits. Then, you would place a piece of paper on top of the stencil and rub a crayon over it to reveal the results. I spent many an afternoon entertained by that thing!
With these dresses, I wanted to do something similar to my stencil kit: creating designs that you can mix and match however you’d like. That’s why the tops are separate from the skirts. You can change things up, play with different paper patterns and styles to create a dress as unique as you’d like!
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting these die cut dresses together. And don’t forget to share your super cute finished results with me on Instagram!

February 16, 2022 at 8:59 am (2 years ago)These are all so sweet! And I love how you created them to mix and match. I can remember our daughter playing with her toy that could make all the different outfits with the crayon rubbed over it. She went through a lot of paper playing and creating.
