There’s nothing quite like receiving a handmade card! I feel like it’s such a great way to show someone how special they are to you.

With this card design, I decided to play off the playing card theme subtly in the castle design. But I just had to use lots of pretty pink paper because, c’mon, it’s Valentine’s Day after all! If you wanted this to look even more “playing card-like,” then you could stick to black, white, and red papers. It’s totally up to you!

This is the first time I’ve experimented with the embossing tool on my Cricut, and I was super excited about the results! It doesn’t show up amazingly well in the photos, but the swirly heart pattern on the white backing is such a lovely extra touch to this card.

If you don’t have an embossing tool, though, you can simply delete that layer, and your card will still come out beautifully, I’m sure!

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!

Enjoy putting this queen of hearts card together. And don’t forget to share your fun finished project with me on Instagram!

Thank you so much for sharing your delightful design. This will be a perfect valentine for my husband. His eyesight is failing, so the large print and tactile design will be perfect for his card. The embossing layer helps add to the tactile experience. Thank you again!
