This cute design was picked by my wonderful patrons! Each month, my Patreon subscribers help me choose a couple of the projects I create, and this design was one of the top picks for the month of June.

I never pass up an opportunity to showcase a project inspired by birds! And who doesn’t love a fancy peacock design? Heck, I love peacocks so much that I have peacock wallpaper and a matching green velvet couch in my living room! And now I can add to my crazy obsession with this decorative papercraft.
Also, I worked so hard on the peacock feather design for this project, that I thought I’d include it in the download as well (bonus)!
Normally I line my luminary projects with vellum so that the light can shine through more easily. But, this project proved too detailed for my vellum paper, and I couldn’t seem to keep it from ripping. I considered just going without the liner layer but felt like it still needed to be there. So, I wound up using a thicker paper than I originally intended. Even if the light won’t come through as well on this one, I feel like what it lacks in luminosity it makes up for in overall elegance.
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting this peacock luminary together. And don’t forget to share your lovely finished projects with me on Instagram!
