It is family picture season! And I’ve got a craft that is sure to capture a perfect smile from every member of your family. Use the new templates in my family portrait set expansion pack (version 2), and enjoy some over-the-top cuteness.

When I’ve shared my portrait creator designs in the past, I’ve just made one family. This time, in order to highlight a few more of the things that are included, I decided to make three little portrait motifs. I’ve included the oval frame in the set, so if you like the idea of doing smaller portraits with just one or two figures, this works really well!
If you missed my first portrait set, or the other expansion pack, be sure to grab those as well! That’s where you will find all the body and face templates, along with some more hair and clothing options.
Watch a short video of me putting this project together on Instagram.
Included in this expansion set are:
- 8 new outfits
- 5 new hairstyles
- Various wedding accessories
- Swaddled Babies
- Angel Wings
- And an oval frame
So, you can mix and match to fit your family’s personality! And, of course, you can use different paper colors/patterns to customize your look even more.
Note: I just used colored pencil to draw the faces. And if I messed up, I got a second chance by flipping the paper over (I may have had to do that once or twice). I recommend drawing the faces on before attaching the rest of your pieces together!
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other die cut freebies available on my blog!
If you’re looking to create a personalized Christmas gift this year, I think a handmade family portrait would make a really exceptional present!
Enjoy putting the newest pieces in my family portrait set to good use. And don’t forget to share your adorable finished product with me on Instagram!

November 14, 2022 at 1:28 pm (4 months ago)I don’t have an assembly video for these designs, but I do hope to make one in the future. My best suggestion is to figure out the size of the frame/backing you want to use beforehand and then size each of your figures/accessories accordingly. Once you know what pieces you want to use and how you plan to arrange them, then you can send the design to cut. 🙂

November 30, 2022 at 7:49 pm (4 months ago)I just love these. I am going to give the wedding one a try for my niece. Did you hand draw the faces on? I was wondering if it would be something I could add right in design space. I am new to the whole thing so I do not know if that is possible.

December 1, 2022 at 11:00 am (4 months ago)That will be a very sweet gift!! I hand-draw the facial features, but I’ve seen some people make them and just leave them blank if they aren’t confident about it.
