I really do think that these little turkeys will delight guests of every age at your Thanksgiving dinner. They are whimsical, festive, and functional to boot!

These boxes are fairly simple to put together, but if you are struggling with the assembly process, be sure to check out my short assembly video on Instagram. The one odd thing in this design is the wedge piece. If you are looking at the file and wondering what the little, brown rectangle is for, just know that it is used as a wedge so that the tail can attach to the back of the box without leaning forward.

I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other die cut freebies available on my blog!

Enjoy putting these turkey treat boxes together. And don’t forget to share your adorable finished product with me on Instagram!

Thanksgiving is an odd holiday, if you think about it. Nobody ever celebrates the glorious green bean, the special sweet potato casserole (with marshmallows), or even the graceful lump of stuffing–the item we really crave (with or without oysters), but we insist on celebrating (the overpriced) turkey. Turkeys, if you’ve ever met one, have great personality, nice manners, and are always polite. The one on the table has little in common with the wild ones, and turkey didn’t appear at an early Thanksgiving. Does anyone put roast venison, fresh flint (corn, not the rock), cabbage, or baked eel on the table these days? Poor turkey. What a way to go. Could it have something to do with the turkey’s good looks?

I agree, it is totally wierd! I actually don’t even eat Turkey (I happen to be a vegetarian, haha). And you’re right—turkeys are really cool creatures with fun personalities! I’ve met a few, and they’ve always left a good impression on me. But I tend to have a high opinion of most animals…hence the vegetarian thing. 😊

    Hi Mandee,
I really like the Turkey Treat box that you designed.
I have one question about where the 1″x3.063 rectangle piece goes on the the Turkey Box.
Thanks for helping me out and especially for the design.

No worries! I knew that that piece would cause confusion, haha. It’s not 100% necessary, but it was my way of making the tail stand upright. 😊

Thanks for this cute design – I have cut out several to use as table favors at my Mother’s Assisted Living – can you tell me how you keep the box shut – maybe I missed something thanks

How wonderful! I’m sure everyone will love them!! I just used a piece of foam tape to keep them shut, but you could use velcro if you wanted them to be opened/shut over and over again. 🙂
