Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me! It’s time to weigh anchor and heed the siren’s call to make another papercraft. Use my latest template to assemble a pirate cake topper that is sure to impress at your next swashbuckling party.

As you might have guessed, my son’s sixth birthday is right around the corner. He is always asking to go on scavenger hunts, and wants nothing more than to find “real buried treasure.” So, when I asked him what he wanted his birthday party theme to be, he said, “Treasure!” And, since treasure is a little bit of an odd theme to stand on its own, he agreed to expand his birthday party theme to be “Treasure and Pirates.”
Watch a short video of me putting this project together on Instagram.
You may notice the spyglass, gold compass, and leather treasure map in these photos. I’ll have you know that none of these were purchased as props for these photos—they are all just things my son owns because he loves hunting for treasure so much.
When I set out to design this cake topper, I knew that treasure definitely had to be a part of it. I think he’s really going to like it!
I use Adobe Illustrator for all of my designs, and a Cricut Maker to bring my creations to life. For tips on creating fun paper cuts like this one, see the FAQ section on my website. Also, be sure to check out the other fun freebies available on my blog!
Enjoy putting this pirate cake topper together. And don’t forget to share your cute finished project with me on Instagram!

February 13, 2023 at 12:33 pm (1 month ago)Beautiful, I would like to make it but Can you tell me which Font you used for name and number, because I need another name☺☺
Mandee
February 15, 2023 at 10:08 am (1 month ago)The font I used for the name is called Isabella Script, and the font I used for the numbers is called Mission Script. But I did include the numbers in the file, so hopefully that helps. 🙂

February 13, 2023 at 12:50 pm (1 month ago)When I download the svg file for the pirate cake topper, it downloads it as one file. The layers are not separate. How do I get the file to download it in the individual layers. Thank you for your help on this.

February 15, 2023 at 10:14 am (1 month ago)Hi Katie, sorry you are having trouble! But if you upload the SVG file to Cricut Design Spaceit will show all of the separate layers in the design. 🙂

Love this, Mandee. My Grandson turns 5 in April, and spells his name the same way as your Elliott, so definitely gonna give this a try!
THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful designs with us.
