If you’ve been following my work for at least a little while, then you may recognize this layered paper art concept. A couple of months ago, I shared a fall-inspired coffee cup scene featuring all sorts of fungi. Well, I had so much fun with that project that I decided that it needed a winter counterpart.

I am a bit of a bird enthusiast, so I thought that it would be fun to incorporate a couple of feathered friends within this scene. Personally, I enjoy birdwatching year-round; but there is something extra special about winter birding. During the cold-weather months, we are fortunate enough to see bald eagles in our neck of the woods, along with other large birds like hawks and swans. Also, because the trees are bare, I feel like it’s easier to spot birds of all sizes.
