Hello all! It’s officially October—time to start crafting all sorts of spooky-fun things. Today, I’m getting in the Halloween spirit and kicking things off with these spooky-cute Halloween pom poms.

Pom pom are just a classic when it come to simple, cute crafts. They are super affordable to make, and are a fun DIY for both kids and adults. All it takes is some yarn, felt, and hot glue to make these adorable Halloween decorations.

The download includes a printable template for the witches hat, bat wings, and pumpkin stem. If you want to learn how to make lovely little pom poms like these, be sure to check out the tutorial I created last Easter.

(For reference: I used the smaller “pom pom maker” for the bats and pumpkins, and the larger one for the witches. The download includes templates for your felt that will go nicely with either size you choose.)

Davian’s favorites are definitely the bats! He saw my putting those together and watched intently as I glued each of the wings on. Once I was done, I gave him one to hold, and showed him how to “make it fly.” He thought that was pretty rad! I could hardly pry them away from him as I tried to take pictures.

I tried to convince him just to hold one, but three bats are just much more fun!

What I love about these Halloween pom poms, is that they are so versatile. You can string them into a garland, hang them around the house, or simply arrange them in a basket—it really doesn’t matter. And who says all your pumpkins have to be orange or all your bats have to be black? You can mix up the colors anyway you like, or have the kids pick out their own colors—go nuts!

Have fun making your own cutesy little pom poms! How do you intend to display your hand made masterpieces?

These are definitely cute! I can picture a whole basket of pom pumpkins! And maybe even glue pipe cleaners to some for legs and make them into spiders!! Goggle-y eyes from the craft store would be cute on any of them too.
